Starting in the 18th century, the game of rolling marbles, colliding with each other and inserting them into a hole made of earth, is officially called "Gua" by the RAE de la Lengua.
The first marbles were made of clay, raw and then cooked, to later be made with stone. Even in the 20th century some marbles were made from stone. Later, the stone marbles gave way to the glass ones.
